Character Profile: Dranamir
Ruthless, cruel, and savage, Dranamir was chosen by the Nameless god as his first Soulless: a living being with nearly unrivaled power who acts as his emissary in the physical realm. In exchange for her position and power, Dranamir gave up her soul, and is bound to the Nameless for eternity. The ritual of bonding to the Nameless also left its mark upon her, as it did for the other Soulless. They no longer appear fully human.
Even death cannot break such bonds – at the beginning of The Moon’s Eye, the five Soulless from past eras are resurrected to carry out the Nameless’ desire for revenge. Dranamir is amongst those returned to life, and she wastes no time in securing her position of dominance. She was the first, and she is the most powerful.
In her previous life, Dranamir earned the title of “Man-Flayer” for her tendency to murder the men under her command. Her army’s generals, other mages, her rivals – none were exempt from her deadly ire if she deemed them no longer worthy of their posts.
In battle, she is equally vicious. If she encounters someone that does not belong to her faction, she kills them indiscriminately, no matter their age, gender, or physical health. Dranamir does not know the meaning of mercy, and she fears no one…with the exception of Ravin.
