Character Profile: Emra Castledowns
Emra is a driven and ambitious soldier, and newly-named knight of Balotica kingdom. She is placed in charge of a dozen other soldiers and dispatched to the city of Jennavere in the eastern reaches of the kingdom. The royal house is keenly aware of the Soulless’ growing threat on the other side of the Gray Mountains, and hopes to deter an attack with a display of force.
Emra’s childhood friend, and the closest she has to a brother, Lucas Silverthorn, accompanies her on the journey. In her new role as knight, Emra often questions her own judgment and relies on Lucas to bolster her confidence.
Emra enters the story late in The Moon’s Eye, but takes on a much more prominent role in the second book of the series, The Talisman of Delucha.
