An Overdue Check-in

An Overdue Check-in

Life has been busy. Work life. Writing life. Personal life. Well, maybe not so much on the third one, as the first two have taken up most of my time.

I realize it’s been a while since my last “check-in” post. With all of the book-related content I have planned, I think it’s overdue. So, here’s what I’ve been working on and my upcoming plans for it.

The Ballad of Alchemy and Steel

My little novella is ready for publication! It’s a story related to The Relics of War trilogy, featuring two of the characters and some of the events that led to their involvement in the main trilogy. I’ve been sharing snippets and a couple excerpts (mostly to my newsletter) over the past couple months.

The Ballad of Alchemy and Steel will be available on April 30. You can learn more by clicking here.

The Relics of War

The Moon’s Eye released January 11, and I had far more interest in that book than I’d anticipated. The feedback has been very positive, and a number of people have told me they’re eager for book 2. The massive rewrite project I’ve undergone for this series has been 100% worth it.

I announced some time ago that The Talisman of Delucha was available for preorder. It’s currently with my proof-reader, and I’m hoping to have final edits made sometime in May. The Talisman of Delucha will be available on July 19. Click here for preorder information.

The third and final book in the series, War of the Nameless, is written, went through first edits, and is now with beta readers. War of the Nameless will be available on December 6. Click here for preorder information.

The Caein Legacy

I’ve been mentioning this series more often lately because I officially have release plans in motion. The Caein Legacy is a 4-book fantasy series set in an entirely different universe from The Relics of War. I wrote the series between 2019 – 2020, and was seeking an agent for a time. I’ve decided to forgo that route for several reasons, and am planning to begin releasing the series in early 2023.

I’ll share more information as time goes on, but for now, you can read some character bios and excerpts on my website – The Caein Legacy.

During March and earlier this month, I was working with Jamie Noble on artwork for the series. (He also did the cover art for The Relics of War.) I have the final artwork for each book and am incredibly excited to share it… But not yet.

The Mage War Chronicles

Books one and two have been written for some time, and have gone as far as beta readers. Now that War of the Nameless is finished, I’ve returned to writing this series and am currently working on book three.

While I don’t have any official release plans for these yet, I will begin doing so after The Caein Legacy is launched. The Mage War Chronicles is set in the same world as The Caein Legacy, but about a thousand years prior. It’s a bit different than my other series in that each book focuses on a different character, but their stories overlap between books. You can learn more about this series on my website – The Mage War Chronicles.

Work Life

Work is set to get very busy between end of April and beginning of July. I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to write during that period, but I’ll do my best to get something on the page every day. I may not be as responsive as I am currently, either, but I’ll try to keep up. I miss the days of having summer vacation!

Anyway, thanks for reading and for your continued support!
