I’m back to writing again…

I posted a few weeks ago that I was in between writing projects. I had a few different pieces that required editing/revisions, and those are now finished.

I completed a final editing pass of Harbinger, which I believe is now ready for my proof reader, once she’s finished with her current project for me. We’re still on track for a May release date.

I went through both Cursed Blades and Catalyst of the Storm (books 4 and 5 of The Mage War Chronicles) and got them off to the beta reader team. They’ve been waiting for Cursed blades for over a year now, so it was past time… Hopefully they’ll forgive the delay since they got 2 books the same week.

Side Note: I don’t have any formal publication plans for The Mage War Chronicles yet. That series will be published, but it won’t be until after 2025. I have other book releases scheduled the next 2 years.

I also edited a short story related to Exile that I’ll be sharing with my newsletter on October 28. It will not be posted to my blog, as I’m not comfortable putting up whole stories with the way websites are being scraped for AI training lately. (Yes, I have updated the code for my site so that it politely asks bots not to scrape it, but it doesn’t prevent them from doing so. The newsletter is a safer option to share my short stories. Anyway, all of that to say, I’m back to drafting a story again! I’m currently about 50 pages into Wrath of the Dragon-kind, book 6 in The Mage War Chronicles. I’m really excited to finally be working on this one because it’s the first book set in this world that focuses heavily on the dragons’ society and their brand of politics—and how they tie into the Mage War.

The previous five books have focused on the various human/humanoid players in the war’s onset, so it’s not only a nice change to be working on the dragons in this story, but it’s a book I’ve been looking forward to writing for months. I just had to get there first. (I’m a one project at a time writer, and I have to write in order… Any other way just doesn’t work for me.)
