New Characters in Harbinger
This week I wanted to talk about some of the new characters you’ll encounter in Harbinger, since it’s coming soon (May 28), and I took a pause from talking about The Caein Legacy to focus on Serpentus for a while.
There are a number of familiar faces that make a reappearance in Harbinger, and I might talk about some of them again later. I think some of my readers are going to be pleased with just who returns and what roles they play in book 3. But today’s blog is about the shiny, new, never-been-met-before characters.
Rizzt-tok
As some of you might have guessed, Rizzt-tok is Corodan. Yes, my giant insect people are featured again, and this time, they have a bigger part to play. The Hive hasn’t forgotten that Andrew brokered peace between their people and Novania, and they’re interested in the “dragon-man” again.
Elias Winston
Elias is the Duke of Dresdin’s Forge and the cousin of Andrew’s late mother. He’s a lot like an older version of Alexander, both in appearance and in personality (sometimes.) He’s also the first to piece together some of the puzzle that is Andrew’s heritage…
Leta
Leta was a royal handmaiden and a close associate of Andrew’s first wife. She has always been loyal to Claire, until of course, she isn’t.
Everett Crossley
Everett was mentioned in passing a few times during both Exile and Guardian, but it’s not until Harbinger that you finally get to meet the Duke of Bridgewaters. He’s an uncle to Alexander, Thomas, and Colin, and served as something of a mentor to all three.
Hulda Macten
Hulda is a skilled cartographer and often acts a scout. Her role is smaller compared to some of the others, but she’s no less important… Particularly once the story reaches book 4.
Robert Claybourne
Readers may recall the name from one scene in Exile, but he didn’t play a big enough role then to really warrant a true introduction. He makes a comeback in Harbinger as one of Colin’s primary lackeys. He’s not a pleasant man, but that’s all I’m going to say.
