Some Writing Updates
As usual, I have a lot going on with my writing, and it has been a while since I last posted an update. So here we go…
Recent Releases & Upcoming Release Schedule:
In April, I released an ebook bundle of The Relics of War. It includes all 3 books in the series and is available everywhere ebooks are sold.
On May 24, I released Exile, book 1 in The Caein Legacy.
What’s in the release pipeline?
- November 28, 2023: Guardian, book 2 in The Caein Legacy
- February 2024: Serpentus, a standalone novel related to The Relics of War
- May 2024: Harbinger, book 3 in The Caein Legacy
- November 2024: Legend, book 4 in The Caein Legacy
Artwork Incoming!
I have been in discussions with Jamie Noble, the artist responsible for most of my book covers to date. He has the cover art for Serpentus on his schedule for August, so I should have something to share this fall…
I’ve also been working with JustMiss Art for some character portraits. This is for my science fiction project (more on that below). The art I’ve received so far has been incredible, and it has been a struggle not to share it yet.
Writing Projects
Since 2023 started, I have edited/revised all four books in The Caein Legacy, and re-edited Exile after feedback from my editor and proofreader. And I also edited/revised Serpentus. (I don’t recommend doing this for 5 books in a row. My brain was mush after all of that.)
I have written 2 short stories as part of the Relics of War Epilogue Tales. The first story, Remembrance, was shared with my newsletter in May. I’m hoping to share the second at the end of this month.
I wrote book 5 in The Mage War Chronicles, Catalyst of the Storm. That was finished up in late May.
I’m currently working on a science fiction project that does not yet have a title. I’ve been itching to get started on this one for months, and it’s almost a relief to actually be in the process of writing it. I’m not ready to share too many details yet, but here’s what I’m willing to give you:
- It’s a space opera
- The main character is a cyborg
- There’s an alien species descended from plants
- And it involves a cast of characters that has been bubbling around in my brain for (in most cases) decades. So this book is long overdue in my writing list!
- As I mentioned above, I have some character art for this one in the works. I’ve commissioned the artist for 7 different pieces.
What’s next in my queue?
Probably a bit more editing/revising. I haven’t yet gone through Cursed Blades, and I need to get that one to beta readers. I will probably follow that with Catalyst of the Storm, as the storylines intertwine a bit between the two books.
And then… Writing book 6 in The Mage War Chronicles, Wrath of the Dragon-kind.
