The Battle is Over: An Update to the Infinity Publishing Situation
Two weeks ago, I published a post regarding my experience with Infinity Publishing and how difficult it had become to have them take my books off their sales platform. You can read the post here: A Cautionary Tale About a Vanity Press.
Since that post, something has occurred to force Infinity into action. I don’t know if it was the BBB complaint, the DA complaint, the Amazon takedown notice (that went in my favor), or the sharing of the blog post on social media, but something finally did the trick. As of today, my books are no longer on their sales platform.
They claimed there were no past royalties owed (which I know isn’t true, since I purchased copies myself to test if the listings were still valid), but at this point in time, I don’t care. It’s over. Done. Finished. That’s the outcome I was hoping for, but it should not have taken ten months to get here.
I promised I would update everyone on the situation once I knew more. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d be making this post without jumping through a few more hoops, but I’ll take it.
Thank you to everyone who showed their support during this fiasco. And please, if you’re an author, avoid vanity presses like the plague they are. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
