Upcoming Release Plans
Now that a month has passed in the new year, I’ve finally gotten around to making an official plan for releases for this year (and next). I’m excited for the next few books, and I hope you will be too!
May 24, 2023: Exile
This is the first book in The Caein Legacy, a 4-part fantasy series with an adult protagonist (Andrew is 36 at the beginning of the story.) The Caein Legacy is a project I began in 2019, and completed drafting in late 2020. It has been through a number of edits, revisions, etc to beat the story into proper shape.
Exile is currently with the proofreader, so I was able to set an official release date.
Side note: You’ll notice May 24 falls on a Wednesday, which is a bit unusual. Most releases occur on Tuesdays. I decided on the 24th because it’s the anniversary of the date I began writing Exile – it has some meaning for me, as will be explained in detail in the author’s note in the front of the book.
November 2023: Guardian
Guardian is book two in The Caein Legacy. This one happens to be a favorite of some of my beta readers, though it was probably the most challenging to write in the series.
Guardian is truly Alexander’s story, though it’s told from Andrew’s perspective. There is a lot of sibling interaction in this book, and the brothers grow significantly, both as characters, but also in their respective roles.
I just finished final revisions on Guardian, and will be moving on to Harbinger soon. Guardian will find its way to the proofreader’s desk as soon as she’s finished with Exile. Once I can discuss scheduling with her, I’ll share an official release date, though I’m planning for November.
2024 Plans
2024 will be a bit busier in terms of releases, as I’m hoping to do three.
First will be Serpentus, a standalone related to The Relics of War trilogy. The book is drafted, but I need to go through final revisions/edits still. It’s in the queue after I finish with The Caein Legacy. I also need to commission cover artwork for this book, but will contact the artist I’ve been working with for that in a few months’ time. I’m hoping for a February 2024 release date.
Next will be Harbinger, book three in The Caein Legacy, tentatively in May 2024, followed by Legend, book four, in November 2024.
I’m thrilled to finally be at the point of sharing this series with everyone. It truly was a work of the heart, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did while writing it.
