Writing Recap 2022 & What’s Coming in 2023
With the end of the year approaching, I wanted to share a few things from 2022 and what you can expect to see from in in 2023.
First: Thank you!
This year has been crazy in so many ways, but mostly good. Thank you for sticking with me as I navigate this thing called publishing.
The 2022 Writing Recap
Last year I went through and figured out how much writing I actually did during the year, and it was a fun (for me) exercise. So I’d like to do it again!
- Wrote 3.5 books (equivalent to about 385,100 words). The other 0.5 book is in progress…
- Edited/Revised 3 other books
- Published 3 books + a novella (Side note: This was a bit much to handle. I’m going to slow down next year for my sanity’s sake. But it was a learning experience and fun!)
- The Moon’s Eye (January 11)
- The Ballad of Alchemy and Steel (April 30)
- The Talisman of Delucha (July 19)
- War of the Nameless (December 6)
- Wrote 51 blog posts! (This does not include book reviews or author interviews.)
I’ll be posting a recap on my reading/book reviews next week on the 29th. I read a lot, so I don’t want to muddy up this post with that info. I’ll also be sharing some of my favorite reads in that blog, so watch for that!
What to Expect in 2023
I am going to begin publishing The Caein Legacy in 2023. The first book (Exile) will be released for sure. The second book may or may not publish next year, but we’ll see.
As most of you know I don’t keep secrets well, so once I make the decision, it will be all over the blog/Twitter/newsletter.
I also plan to keep writing The Mage War Chronicles. I have books 5 and 6 outlined and will probably complete the drafts sometime next year. I’ll also be finishing up Serpentus in the next few weeks (that has been a fun project to work on!)
Again, thank you for the continued support, the feedback, and the fun. I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season.
