The Mage War Chronicles: Book Two
Synopsis:
Helene Macen is plagued by nightmares, even though she has completed her trials and is a mage in the eyes of the Triad. Seeking help for her strange nighttime malady, she meets with the Triad only to be dismissed hours later. Frustrated and fearful for her future, she seeks the help of a dragon-mage to untangle the mystery behind the nightmares. What she learns changes her outlook on life; the nightmares are not the nonsensical terrors of a weary mind, but visions of events yet to come.
One vision is particularly frightening, as she sees a possible future in which the magi are at war. Others seem to show the war can be averted, but she must maneuver carefully through the politics of both the Triad and the Southlands in order to prevent the future she glimpsed in her vision. She strikes a deal with an unlikely ally, with the hope that her intervention will stop the magi from senselessly killing one another.
But will it be enough?
