Recap: Fort Collins Comic Con 2026
While the con is over, the memories remain.
I love comic cons. I’ve gone to a few as an attendee, but the last number of years, it has been as a vendor. While being a vendor is a lot of work, it has its perks. I get to see tons of amazing cosplays and interact with people who love the same things I do: books, dragons, cyborgs, and all things sci-fi/fantasy. There were artists, artisans, other authors, and so much more to see.
This year was the first time I’ve been to Fort Collins Comic Con since 2023. Since my last appearance, they’ve upgraded to a new venue, expanded the con to include Friday, and grown significantly (both in number of guests/vendors, and in number of attendees.) It’s great to see! And I love this con especially because the majority of the profits are donated to a charity designated by the City of Fort Collins. This year, proceeds went to the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County.
I took a handful of photos this year. I would have loved to get more, but it was a busy three days. This is the first time in my life that I talked so much I was losing my voice by the end of the con. But tired vocal cords were completely worth the experience I had. It was so much fun!

One of the best moments of this particular con was connecting with a long-time reader of my Relics of War books. I’ve been chatting with them over social media for years, and we originally connected through a book tour back in 2023. They gave me the absolute honor of coming by to see me in person for the first time. I signed their copy of The Ballad of Alchemy and Steel a second time (I think resigning that book is going to become a tradition when we’re at the same event, which I’m looking forward to. It’s such a neat idea!)
This is only the second time in my authoring life that someone has come to an event specifically to see me. While that may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, it means the world to me. That my words made such an impact on someone that they want to meet me just to share their love of a world I created… That feeling is beyond mere words. I’m so grateful they came by.
I’ll do my best to attend Fort Collins Comic Con again next year, provided life cooperates again. I had an amazing time!
