Thank you!

2025 has been a roller coaster year. There have been ups and downs, corkscrew turns I couldn’t have anticipated, and some wild twists. But overall, it has been a pretty damned good year for me, despite the current workplace situation.

Since many of you subscribing to my blog are based in the US, I’ll keep this post short today. It’s Thanksgiving, a time that for many means hanging out with family. I’ll be doing the same. We’re hosting this year, so by the time this goes live and lands in your inbox, I’ll most likely be in the kitchen making pie. As the family’s resident baker, I get the privilege of choosing what kind of pie accompanies the big meal, and it’s apple this year.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who follows this blog, whether it’s for the worldbuilding posts I make, the book reviews, my books, or just because you like me for some reason. I appreciate that you’ve come along for the ride, and that so many of you have stayed with me too.

I also wanted to thank everyone who has supported Wraith and the Revolution so far. It’s definitely a story that came from my heart (how could it not, when I was toying with it in one form or another for 30-some years?) I’m still stunned at the reception it has had so far, and this is going on 5 months later. I’m so grateful for all of the likes, comments, shares, reviews, and interviews that came along with that book’s release.

And lastly, I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has backed The Book of Spores anthology on Kickstarter. Going in, none of us on the team expected it to fund as quickly as it did, nor did we expect to reach many of the stretch goals. But here we are, and though it’s kind of surreal, it’s also incredible. I hope those of you reading this enjoy my story, Some Books Aren’t Worth Reading, which features the same main character from Wraith and the Revolution, only about 6 years after the novel. I cannot express my gratitude enough with how this launch has gone so far.

I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating, and a wonderful holiday season. Here’s a picture of our neighborhood turkeys, blissfully unaware of what is taking place in most of the houses surrounding them today.

PS – If you’re interested in a prequel story to Wraith and the Revolution, I’ll be sharing chapter 1 of Survivor with my monthly newsletter on Saturday. It’s a 4-part story, with one chapter shared each month through February, and some upcoming artwork by the very talented C.B. Lansdell.
