Writing Update
I haven’t posted a general update in a while, and I figure I probably should. I don’t even remember the last time I made one that covered my current writing projects (the ones not currently in the queue for publication, that is.) So, here we go…
The Mage War Chronicles
I have finally, finally finished drafting Daggerborn’s book. I’m tentatively titling it “Until the End,” though that might change later. It’s the 7th overall in the series, and while many of its predecessors went quickly, this one did not.
Daggerborn was a tough main character for me to get into. I’m still not entirely sure if it was due to the draft’s timing in my life in general, or if it was the book itself, but I haven’t struggled this much with a project in years. Daggerborn is very morally gray, but if you’ve followed me/my blog for any length of time, you know that 2024 was not a good year for me personally. Whatever it was, this book was difficult, so to say it’s finally finished is a relief.
I have at least 1 more to write in this series before I start considering publication.
The Fontayne Company
Book 1 (Rites of Departure) has been finished for some time now, and earlier this month, I did a major round of revisions. It’s currently with my beta readers for feedback.
This is slated as a duology, and I’ve started drafting book 2. The title for that one is Into the Beyond.
Other Stuff
I’ve written 2 different short stories related to Wraith and the Revolution that are for 2 separate anthologies. I don’t have an ETA on either anthology project yet, but I’m hoping to have more details on those later this year. When I know more, I’ll share it here.
I’ve also written an additional story for fun related to Wraith, which I’ll probably share with my newsletter at some point. It’s a prequel story and focuses heavily on Kye’s time on Earth as a scavenger, along with one of his (failed) attempts to get off-world. I still need to edit/revise it some before then, but it’ll probably be ready to share in the latter half of the year.
I have an outline for something entirely unrelated to any of the above as well, but fans of The Caein Legacy might be interested to learn that it’s related to that series. That’s all I’m willing to say about it right now.
While I don’t currently have anything official scheduled to publish after Wraith and the Revolution, as you can see, I have plenty of content in the works. It’s just a matter of completing my projects. 😊
