2022 Recap: Reading & Book Reviews

2022 Recap: Reading & Book Reviews

Last year I did a single recap post for everything blog-related. This year, I’ve decided to break it into parts because it was just too much for one post.

This is the reading and book reviews portion of my recap for the year. I’ve always been an avid reader, but I never started tracking my reads until I started this blog. I read a lot more than I realized.

All the books…

It’s my goal to review every book I finish reading, whether I enjoyed it or not. I don’t leave reviews for books I can’t complete for one reason or another. This graphic shows the cover of every book I’ve read to completion since this time last year (Total: 72!)

Now for the fun part, which I didn’t do last year. I’m going to list a few that really stood out to me (categories in no particular order):

My favorite fantasy read of 2022: These Violent Nights by Rebecca Crunden

My favorite sci-fi read of 2022: The Martian by Andy Weir

The binge-read-worthiest series I read in 2022: The Hybrid Helix by JCM Berne (Wistful Ascending, Return of the Griffin, Blood Reunion)

The book that made me laugh the most: Orconomics by J. Zachary Pike

The book that made me cry the most: The Drift by Casie Aufenthie

Favorite action scenes: The Hidden Goddess by T.M. Kohl

Favorite battle/combat scenes: The Blood of Outcasts by D.A. Smith

Darkest book: Strangers by Michaelbrent Collings

Most intense book: Bits & Pieces by Dawn Hosmer

Happiest ending: The Broken Oath by L.B. Black

The books with my favorite monsters: The Teeth in the Tide and The Demons in the Deep by Rebecca F. Kenney

And because I love dragons…

The book with my favorite dragon: The Pact by J.E. Hannaford

And here’s the full list of books I read over the course of 2022 (in order by title):
